BoA wishes you a Happy New Year!

"Happy New Year! It has been eight years since I have spent New Years day in Korea. I'll be counting down the seconds and watching the sunrise for the new year.""I still have a long way to go," BoA says, in regarding her debut. "My first goal is to get my name on the main Billboard chart. I think I'm going to take it one step at a time. Recently, I've read a book called Secret; it says that if you truly wish for something to happen and always think about it, your wish will actually come true. I, too, pray everyday, and ask for good results. I would have just gone back and forth from Korea to Japan if I wanted to stay comfortable. It's every singers dream to debut in the U.S., and it's a wish that I want to make come true."
From time to time, BoA gets curious about how Americans respond to her, so she researches for comments on the internet. One comment she couldn't get out of her head is; "There are no Asians that have been successful as singers, but I have a feeling that BoA will become successful."
"Since I'm short, people seem to think that I'm in my teens. There are times where I haven't been allowed to enter places because of that. Oh, yeah, in America people mix up me with the Bank of America. It is said that they actually called it Boa instead of B-o-a." BoA laughs saying, "It would be great if I received a CF offer from Bank of America."
As we know, BoA resides in Los Angeles to give her all into this debut. Although she may not have the language skills to the point where she can understand U.S. drama shows 100%, she is trying her hardest. But she confessed that English is easier than learning Japanese.
Recently, BoA heard that Se7en, who is also advancing to the U.S., has been suffering from depression. "I have a lot of staff members around me, so in my case, it's not as hard. Anyways, I think that living far away from your home is difficult and makes you lonely.
They are considering to make time for BoA, to meet with her fans living in Korea. Afterwards, she will return to the U.S. to continuously release singles. BoA has completed 11 songs for her album that is due in the first half of this year.
Stay tuned for more interesting and random news updates this week!

BoA Returns to Korea with a Bang!
Dec 29 2008, 08:37 PM by Uni

BoA Returns to Korea with a Bang!
One Year, Six Months
One year and six months has passed since BoA's last Korean solo performance at the KBS Open Concert, where she performed her two hit songs from her 4th and 5th albums, My Name and Girls On Top**, respectively. Now, she's back with her smashing performance of her U.S. singles 'Eat You Up' and 'Look Who's Talking' at the 2008 SBS 가요대전 (Gayo Festival)!!
Unlike past Gayo shows, this year's Big Three will have daejeons (대전), or festivals, instead of an award show. So, this years SBS Gayo was an all out Star Festival! Three of the Family Outing members, Park YeJin, Lee ChunHee, and DaeSung of Big Bang, MCed for the big event and introduced all the artists' stages!
With one great performance after another, the 2008 SBS Gayo Festival had already become THE festival of the year when compared to the 2008 MNet KM Music Festival (MKMF) and the 23rd Golden Disk Awards (GDA). When you think it wouldn't get any better, the moment that BoAjjang members stayed up for finally came! BoA wowed everyone with her first televised performance of 'Eat You Up' and 'Look Who's Talking'. This jaw-dropping performance is her best performance to date for her two American songs! BoA closed the Festival with her powerful singing, and hardcore dancing, choreographed by Misha Gabriel and company.
Did you miss the live broadcasting? Not to worry! BoAjjang members have uploaded BoA's performances, as well as other artist who performed that night, in our Download Forum. The 2008 SBS Gayo Festival show has also been uploaded and can be found in our Non-BoA Download Forum. Watching the full show? Lost? Check the SBS Gayo Festival discussion thread here.
MBC and KBS will have their own Gayo Festival on the 30th and 31st respectively on their own broadcasting channel at 9:55PM Seoul time (7:55AM EST) and will be 3 hours long with one 15 minute break. It was great finally watching an end-of-the-year show live with BoAjjang members! See you at the next show! Or at next years Gayo.
For the whole coverage of the event, please read the next post!
** This isn't including the Anyband concert which was on November 27th, 2007.

BoA Releases Single & Album Dates; a Performance in Korea
Dec 23 2008, 07:00 AM by kuraudo

Although BoA has invaded the U.S. shores by making several appearances to promote herself and her debut single Eat You Up, BoA's second home, Japan, will still receive some exciting new releases from her in early 2009. This girl is tireless, isn't she?
BoA has set a date for February 18, 2009 for her latest Japanese single, tentatively titled 永遠 (Eien).
Similar to BoA's later Japanese singles, 永遠 comes to us with two versions: a CD Only version, and a CD+DVD version, which includes a "making of" movie, and a bonus track entitled BEST ALBUM NON-STOP MEGAMIX. There is also a FIRST PRESS edition, but its bonus contents (posters, postcards, etc.), may vary from store to store.
Several Korean news sources have confirmed that BoA will be performing at South Korean television broadcasting network SBS' year-end awards ceremony, "SBS Gayo Daejun 2008," to be held on December 29, 2008. In this event, BoA is set to perform her American single Eat You Up and debut album song Look Who's Talking for the very first time in Korea. This will be BoA's first performance on a Korean stage since June of 2007 on KBS.
In an interview with Los Angeles radio personality JoJo Wright, more commonly known as "JoJo On The Radio," from KIIS FM, BoA has also set a date for her debut American album, Look Who's Talking, for March of 2009. To quote JoJo, BoA is "a worldwide phenomenon!" With just weeks apart from her Japanese and American release dates, BoA, indeed, lives up to the title, "Worldwide Phenomenon."
